I love how that was your mom’s reaction because not only was I from The Internet, I’m about FIVE YEARS OLDER. You and my bro are about the same age. I try not to think about it. Meanwhile, my normally-lax parents and I had a fight about it.
My parents learned when I was still just a wee little thing that there was no controlling me. I may have been the only girl, but I was just as defiant as my brothers before me. So in this case, my dad would fuel my crazy antics and my mom would just face palm and try to be as helpful as humanly possible. XD
A few examples; running around abandoned building with Brother #2 and dog in the middle of the night because fun and why not, dragging Mom, Brother #2 and Grandma Maria to Houston for an MCR concert (don’t even ask how I managed that), believing Dad when he said I could be anything, so I became a Division I flutist and a State Ranked V.A.S.E. photographer leading Mom to being dragged all around the state of Texas with me on my trips, being in a band that got me living in a fancy ass condo 600 miles from home for a week, joining a government-run college-for-high-schoolers group that ended up landing me in San Antonio, TX., Denver, CO., and Dallas, TX. on 3 separate occasions, and that one time I almost died because photography got me plummeting through the attic floor and into the kitchen of our two story house because weak support beams. :D
So yeah, a short trip to Houston with a stranger and a male friend wasn’t too big a deal apparently.
